Remote Client Windows

Last updated on 6 October 2025

In this short guide, you will learn how to install and use the Remote Client on Windows to easily and securely connect to locations and devices via the Remote portal.

Installation of the Client Software

1. Navigate to https://portal.remoteengineer.eu and log in with your account.

2. Click on Manage Clients and then on Download client.

3. Open the downloaded file RemoteClient_X.X.X_.exe.

4. During installation, you can uncheck the option Install com0com (virtual serial port driver), unless you are using devices that require serial communication via the ServiceGate port.

5. Accept the installation drivers when prompted. Without these drivers, the client will not function.

Upon completion, the client is ready to be paired.

Pairing the Client to your Portal Account

Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge: The pairing occurs automatically. Your device will appear in the top right of the portal once the pairing is successful.

Mozilla Firefox: Open https://localhost:8443, select Advanced, and click on Accept the Risk and Continue. Afterward, your client will be visible in the portal.

If this fails, manually copy the key via the Remote icon in your taskbar and paste it into the portal under Add Device.

Connecting to a Location

In the portal, navigate to Locations.

  1. Select a location: the Connect button will turn blue.
  2. Click on Connect. Once the status bar turns green, the connection is active.
