Your position
Our web portal is the Internet of Things platform for our customers. To allow machines and plants to connect to the portal easily and reliably, we use our own hardware in the form of ServiceGate industrial VPN routers. These routers are developed in-house.
You will be working at Remote to further develop the software and firmware for the ServiceGate range and 3rd party embedded hardware. Developments in this area are rapidly following, with security, user experience and data preparation on the Edge becoming more sophisticated. Quality and performance are therefore paramount. Logically, a thorough software development lifecycle is critical. Where necessary, you will also support the process of certification of our routers in countries such as America, India and Brazil. You will work closely with our production department and help them optimize the production process.

As our ideal colleague, you possess a college or wo working and thinking level. You feel comfortable in a technically oriented (work) environment with lots of dynamics and continuous focus on innovation. You supplement this with:
- A completed degree in Electrical Engineering, Technical Computer Science, Embedded Systems or related field in which you have been involved with both hardware and software;
- Work experience in a similar position or relevant internships;
- Knowledge and preferably experience with Linux, Rust, C++ and C;
- Affinity for electronics;
- Experience with network communications (MQTT, VPN, Wi-Fi, BLE and 4G) and/or Industrial Automation is a plus;
- A good command of both the Dutch and English languages in word and writing;
- You live near Akkrum, but at least in Friesland;
- You are available for 32 – 40 hours;
