Access Siemens Desigo remotely

Investigate a comfort complaint before travelling to the building. A ServiceGate can make an agreed Desigo service environment reachable. Connectivity, user permissions and data integration each need their own configuration.
Start with the right Desigo component
Desigo is a product family, not one uniform connection. Siemens describes a web interface and BACnet/IP for Desigo Control Point. Record the actual panel, web server and automation stations. Having a web page does not mean all underlying data is available to an external logger.
Choose the access your technician needs
An approved web interface can use an HTTP or HTTPS service configured in the Remote Portal. Engineering software may need a VPN connection to the location. The service laptop still needs the building software and permissions. The router does not replace a Siemens licence, account or password. Do not grant access to other tenants or the office network.
Reachable does not mean discoverable
Document IP addresses, subnets and return routes. A device may respond at its address while automatic BACnet discovery finds nothing. Have the building integrator assess any additional BACnet networking requirements. Do not create broad broadcast connectivity between buildings as an experiment.
Give measurement data its own route
To collect temperatures, operating hours and fault states, request a point list with objects, units, read permissions and intervals. Desigo BACnet support does not prove a standard BACnet driver exists in every ServiceGate configuration. We assess a direct connection or a gateway/custom route. The control loop remains local.
Check before handover
- Compare three points with the local display, including time and unit.
- Verify that a maintenance user reaches only the agreed installation.
- Test revoked access and an interrupted connection.
- Document who may make changes and how to restore the previous configuration.
What does this preparation achieve?
The technician can investigate and compare trends without unnecessary network access. Assess with the local manager whether a complaint relates to a sensor, schedule or control setting. Share the model, software version and network sketch with us; do not send passwords.
Access, data and ongoing management
All ServiceGate routers support remote access and data logging/monitoring. Available data and services depend on equipment and configuration. Manage locations, users and groups through the Remote Portal. Segmentation and suitable firewall rules limit access but do not replace security updates for the router and installation.
