Remote Engineer allows companies to securely and simply access and manage equipment through a VPN tunnel to each asset at third party locations, even behind firewalls. The installation is truly plug & play and ongoing management of the connections is automated. The VPN tunnel is completely ‘transparent’ even allowing for new software downloads.

Core Functionalities of Remote Engineer are:

1. Transparent connection between service provider/engineer and remote machinelocation.
   Because this connection is transparent you can access the machine with your own diagnostic tools from your own development environment, allowing you to ‘read’, ‘write’, ‘set’, ‘log’ and ‘down load’, to name but a few.
2. Case & Call service log.
   Each time a contact is being finalized the service provider will be prompted with for status and, if required follow-up action. This Case & Call service log allows you and your organization to effectively monitor and manage your service provision. If you prefer, you can switch this functionality off.

Remote Engineer consists of:

1. Remote Engineer router at the remote location;
2. Client application software at the user
3. Server application software
   1. web-service provided by Remote Engineer, or
   2. dedicated server at the service provider/OEM.

Remote Engineer maintains the integrity of the firewall and IT policy of the remote location (eg. it does not require ports in the firewall to be left open) and all communication is secure (SSL certificates).

The installation and management is straight forward and standard across all locations:

1. All Routers are pre-configured for your company. This means that in 95% of the cases you will not have to program the Remote Engineer router.
2. Easy to use web interface in the Remote Engineer router and/providing a clear and straightforward software tool for management of all connections at all locations.
3. At each remote location the subnet behind the Remote Engineer router is the same. This makes of easy connections and no need to remember a multitude of IP addresses – each machine at different locations has the same IP address. Communication with the IP addresses behind the router are through a SSL VPN tunnel and not through port forwarding;
